Case Study #1
Palmetto General Hospital
Hialeah, FL

History

Digitec sold Palmetto General a new Instrumentarium mammography system in 1988. After 11 years, it could no longer keep up with MQSA regs so they removed it. Unfortunately, it appeared that the unique compression system on the remaining GE 600T units would prevent those machines from meeting the new requirements too. Even the local physicist said the units would not pass.

Exam

Anticipating this might be the case and knowing there were thousands of 600T units out there, Digitec read the federal register and separated the final regulations from the more stringent, proposed regs. Other companies were not making this distinction.

Treatment

Digitec developed the 600T Compression Control Module, got it approved by both the FDA and UL, and patented by the U.S. Patent Office. We then got the word out that we had developed a cost-effective way to bring all 600T units into compliance.

Outcome

Palmetto's 600T units passed MQSA. They still use them today, realizing a greater ROI than they ever thought possible.

Prognosis

Excellent. Over the years, Palmetto has purchased five systems from Digitec, including refurbished GE and Lorad machines.

Case Study #2
Columbus Diagnostic Center
Columbus, GA

History

When we called on CDC over ten years ago, they were using Picker mammography systems. But their engineers were having a difficult time optimizing the imaging and taking care of recurring problems with the machines.

Exam

Given Digitec's extensive experience with every major OEM, we were immediately successful in determining the causes of the problems and getting the machines up and running again.

Treatment

We kept the Picker units in operation and in compliance for several years, then replaced them with newer Bennett systems. When the Bennett systems also reached end of life, CDC purchased a new Instrumentarium unit from us, which is still in service today.

Outcome

Digitec is still helping CDC offer patients the most current mammographic technology available. In 2005, Digitec placed an iCAD SL500 in CDC, which they use on approximately 400 patients per month.

Prognosis

Excellent. CDC has been relying on Digitec for mammography support for a long time, and will continue to do so in the years to come.

Case Study #3
Hoag Hospital
Newport Beach, CA

History

In April 2005, the customer's GE DMR system needed a replacement x-ray tube.

Exam

GE list price was over $30K.

Treatment

Digitec's price for a used, fully warranted tube came to just $14,500.

Outcome

One extremely happy customer. On the computer payment check stub, we found a handwritten note that read "I love Digitec."

Prognosis

Outstanding. We expect many more calls from this customer, whenever they need a quality, guaranteed part without having to spend an inordinate amount of money.
